Step 6:

You now have a blank to design and cut out your snowflake. Use scissors to trim away paper. As a rule of thumb, the more lines you cut into the snowflake and trim away, the more delicate the snowflake will be. For the Star of David paper snowflake, cut away at the diagonal on both ends of the blank.

Cut freehand, draw the design in with a pencil or use one of our free templates included at the bottom of this article. If you are using thicker craft paper, first test your scissors to make sure they are sharp and able to cut through all the layers. Using a hobby knife can be an alternative way to cut smoothly through all the layers. Make sure the blades of your craft tools are fresh.
