i make crafts with exacto blades, and needed a way to "sheathe" the blade when i'm not using it (obviously); i was a little skeptical about the colors at first but i actually really like them now that they're here!
I bought some safety caps on Amazon, and they were horrible: did not fit, and once they were forced on, very difficult to remove. In order to get them to fit on an Exacto knife, I had to physically modify them to a slightly larger diameter.
I then bought the Excel caps.
They seem to fit "as-is" on my Exacto knives,
Thank you for such a great product.
I appreciate the fact that your company actually makes replacement safety caps available to their customers. I am pretty sure producing and retailing safety caps is not a profitable line for your company, yet you do it.
Your competitor, the X-ACTO people, can't be bothered to provide replacement safety caps, even though theirs are flimsy, easily broken and easily lost. They talk of safety and customer service..., right! That's one company I will stay away from and will make a concerted effort to inform others of their shortcomings.
Anyway, kudos to you for doing it and doing it well, they're actually solid and attractive caps. I wish they also fitted the smaller X-ACTO products I already have. Best regards.
I ordered these caps thinking they would fit my Testor’s xacto blade which I recently lost the cover to. I didn’t pay attention to how Testors designed their plastic handle, and when the caps came I realized my error. However I can say the plastic materiel used on these caps is quite nice. They are clearly well made and sturdy. If you need a replacement cover for your real xacto blade (not testors hobby knife) I would recommend them to you. Excel also shipped them very quickly
These safety caps work far better for X-ACTO knives than any of several alternatives I have tried, and the cost is very reasonable. They work as well as the original X-ACTO caps, which can be lost, if they were supplied with the knives in the first place, and X-ACTO doesn't seem to sell replacement caps that I've been able to find.
After USPS failed to deliver the ordered caps in time for school to open, Excel Blades stepped up and sent another package to get the students' Excel cutters home safely. Thanks for tremendous customer service!
