Spring Crafts for Adults

Spring Crafts for Adults

Get into full springtime vibes with some of the craft ideas for home and hobby we compiled below. Be sure to prepare ahead of time and gather the universally used craft tools listed in this article so you are ready to get started.

Cutting Mat

The best thing since sliced bread — at least we think so! Cutting mats protect the surface of your counter or table and keep your blades sharper for longer because they shield the cutting edge from scraping and dulling. These mats are washable, so using polymer clay, glues or acrylic paint is okay. Just wipe clean at the end of the project.

a hobby knife

Craft Knife

Also known as a hobby knife, art knife, paper-cutting knife… and so on! These come in many options, so you can find the one that works best for you. For a longer project, the K26 Fit-Grip Knife features an ergonomic rubberized handle that’s easier on the fingers. For projects with lots of round and swirly cuts, we offer the K4 Swivel Knife that features a blade that rotates a full 360 degrees.

Replacement Blades

Nothing halts a project to a screeching stop like a dull blade. Although Excel Blades makes very sharp blades, materials like paper, vinyl, cork or polymer clay create damage. This means that eventually, even the sharpest blade becomes too dull to use safely or efficiently.

Adhesives

It's pretty safe to say that most, if not all, projects are going to need some form of glue, tape or adhesive to complete them.

Pliers

These tools are great to have around the house, not only for hobbies and crafts but also for little fixes around the house and yard. Use a pair of pliers to hold, grasp, twist, bend, shape and more!

Sanding Sticks

Sanding tools are great for finishing. Sand off all the little imperfections, remove rough areas and smooth out the surface and edges.

a pair of tweezers

Tweezers

Another all-purpose tool that’s also great for crafting, DIY and art is a pair of tweezers. Read more about this little mighty toll here.

On to the projects!
